5 Reasons To Go Out And Find ‘Real’ Fans
Earlier this week I was reading Matt Silverman‘s
Mashable post 5 Essential Apps for Your Business’s Facebook Fan Page. It got me thinking, now that flashy plugins, extensions and promotions are becoming standard practice what should businesses focus on…getting real fans!
So when you could focus gaining fans through promotions and widgets why should you bother finding real fans who know and love you?
- Real fans actually know what your business is about (and like what you do).
- Real fans will be able to give you feedback about how your business is doing.
- Real Fans who know about your business are more likely to upload photo’s, create discussions and engage with other fans.
- Any Facebook promotion you do is likely have much higher ROI if your fans are people who actually use your service.
- Offline-online integration is where it’s at – more and more mobile apps are pushing the virtual world into the real world. But you don’t have to wait for Foursquare and Gowalla to blow up twitterstyle you can encourage your ‘real fans’ to sign up as Facebook fans through a simple A4 poster (or something like it).
So when dealing with any sort of Facebook promo try to focus on getting real fans not just phishing for numbers….huge fan numbers are cool, but not as cool as real fans.
