The Application Game

Love em or hate em, social apps are big business. How big? Check this out. The popularity of these seemingly pointless time wasters is undeniable… According to Digital Buzz, 70% of Facebook users engage with applications. Considering there is anywhere between 400 and 500 million registered users (depending on who you ask), that’s a whole [...]

Help Us Socialise The TEDxDunedin Website

I love slideshare….it’s great for inspiration and for seeing what some of the best speakers in the world are talking about. I’m currently in the midst of redesigning the TEDxDunedin website. The last one was built in a hectic 24 hour period within the 6weeks that we put the event together – so needless to say it’s not the best.

Foursquare and the Place Race

So Facebook Places has been launched… Well at least in the U.S anyway. So what does this mean for Foursquare and other location based services such as Gowalla and Loopt ? This is what it doesn’t tell you…

You cannot, I repeat cannot run any sort of competition in an FBML tab…unless you have a monthly add spend of 15k (or around 5k if you partner with Wildfire). This makes it completely unrealistic for the small or medium sized business.

What’s more you need your competition to be approved by a Facebook client rep – easier said than done.

New Facebook Relationship Status

Why Facebook isn’t the business seductress it once was… It’s not me it’s you. I’ve always tried to make the most of your whimsical ways during our steamy affair. Recently though I’m starting to think you just don’t care any more. At the start you were all welcoming, chilled out and friendly; now you’re all “don’t do this”, [...]
